Long, Long ago…in a time before motherhood, there was a girl who had a baklava business. That girl was me and it seems like a life time ago that my friend Erin and I opened up our baklava stand at the local farmers market. We had such a tiny little table with 4 different flavors of baklava, but we sold out every week! Soon I was cooking my baklava and pastries out of a little tea shop which “boasted” the smallest kitchen in Salt Lake City.
After awhile, little Mina came into the world and joined me at the kitchen, cooking and smiling at all the customers! As she got older, it became harder to keep the munchkin contained as I cooked and it was time to hang up the baking apron and be a mom.
Many, MANY years later, it was time to dust off that apron and get back to baking! The new lineup of flavors are edgy and fun. This new punked palate invites the adventurous and deviates from tradition, bordering on heresy! It’s time to live and eat outside the box, experience baklava in the 21st century!
