This summer has been filled with experimental cooking and Baklava challenges. My daughter Mina decided she was going to challenge me to make a Twizzlers Red Licorice Baklava.
I have to say that I was a bit reluctant, but I dove in and gave it a try. I figured this was a better challenge than her other idea: Potato Chip Baklava. It was very red and actually very good. When I offered it to willing victims to try, they were reluctant because they didn’t like the actual red licorice candy. Imagine their surprise when they liked it!
It got me thinking about other candies to pair with baklava. Maybe I will try an M&M baklava next! What candies would you challenge me to try in my baklava?
