Baklava, Business & Beverages

We had our first Baklava & Business event at our 7th and Seventh Studio bringing together women lawyers, entrepreneurs, and coaches for an evening of fun networking.

My friend Jaelynn came up with this idea about a month ago and gathered the people while I handled the food and drinks. Not only were we featuring baklava, sweet and savory varieties, we also invited two small women owned businesses to showcase their wares: Pixel and Torch Silversmithing and Paletti Boutique. Joanna from Pixel and Torch set up her jewelry in one room, while Carol displayed a few outfits for the working women in another. People were able to easily eat the bite sized food and stroll through the various rooms, chatting and browsing at the same time.

I kept the menu simple and concise: 4 different types of sweet baklava, 4 different savory Baklava (borek), and 3 Turkish dips. It was more than enough for all of us to enjoy and not feel it lacked variety. Bohemian Highway wine

Before heading over to set up, I stopped at the liqueur store to pick up some wine, not knowing what in the world I would pick up. Then I saw the perfect wine! It was called Bohemian Highway-just the thing to pair with Bohemian baklava!

Even though I had chairs set up all around the Studio, everyone was comfortable gathering in the kitchen. I am not surprised. The kitchen usually is the heart of the home-why would this even be any different?

We truly had a lovely time and some of us chatting way into the evening, close to 4 hours!

It was such a hit that we are planning another event coming in may at a friend’s salon. This time we will be calling it Baklava & Beauty…Stay tuned for more over the next few weeks .
